Mary Allen

Mary is an Associate on the investment team. She is responsible for deal origination, execution, and monitoring of investments and divestments.

As a former management consultant at Deloitte, Mary has advised businesses across West Africa on their capital raises, renewable energy project structuring, and scale-up strategy. Prior to joining the Uhuru team, she completed an externship with the investment team at Verod Capital Management, a West-African private equity investor. In the past, she has held roles in Strategy and Operations for a South African distribution company and a Sales and Product Development role for a consumer goods social enterprise in Guatemala.

Mary holds a Masters in International Business from Tufts University and a BA in Humanities from University of Navarre.

Mary is an avid long-distance runner. She enjoys combining most of her hobbies with running – friends, books, and The Economist.
